Can I go to the gym after a hair transplant?
The short answer
Usually from day 28, if your clinic agrees.
Day by day
- Days 0–6Not yet
Not yet. Exercise raises blood pressure and makes you sweat, which can cause bleeding and swelling and irritate the grafts. Gentle walking is good.
- Days 7–13Careful
Walking and very light activity only. No weights, straining, or exercises that put your head below your heart. Your clinic's own advice comes first.
- Days 14–27Careful
Light to moderate training is often OK now. Build up slowly, avoid heavy lifts and rinse sweat off gently afterwards. Your clinic's own advice comes first.
- From day 28Yes
Most people are back to normal training around a month after surgery. If anything hurts or bleeds, stop and check with your clinic.
Not yet reviewed by a doctor — verify with your clinic.
