Can I drink alcohol after a hair transplant?
The short answer
Usually from day 14, if your clinic agrees.
Day by day
- Days 0–6Not yet
Best not. Alcohol can increase bleeding and swelling, slow healing and interact with medicines you may be taking, such as antibiotics or painkillers.
- Days 7–13Careful
If you've finished any medicines that don't mix with alcohol, a small amount is less of a problem. Healing still goes better without it. Your clinic's own advice comes first.
- From day 14Yes
In moderation. Check any medicine you take for alcohol warnings.
