Days 122–152
Month 5 after a hair transplant
Days 122 to 152. What month 5 usually looks like, what's normal, and what deserves a call to your clinic.
What you can do now
On day 122
Call your clinic this month if you notice
- Fever, pus, a bad smell, or redness and warmth that spread.
- Painful or spreading bumps.
- Pain that gets worse each day instead of easing.
In the GraftKeeper app, Check a symptom walks you through what to do.
Days 126–139
Building length
Hairs are getting longer and some are starting to thicken. Styling with your fingers and a light product is usually fine; ask your clinic before colour or chemical treatments.
What's typical
- Longer new hairs
- Mixed fine and thicker hairs
- Some areas still behind
Days 140–153
Month 5
Steady progress. The new hair is still finer than it will become, and the overall look may still be thinner than you hoped. That usually changes over the next months.
What's typical
- Thickening hairs
- Uneven density
- Texture settling
